We're trying to make this as much fun and even the playing field as much as possible and get back to the spirit of good clean competition shooting .

USMC  SSBC course of fire.

Thought id throw it out there, Its a humbling course of fire all done on E-type sillhouette targets, no sighters. Breakdown is as follows.

300 yds: 3 stationary/2 movers
500 yds: 3 stationary/2 movers
600 yds: 3 stationary/2 movers
700 yds: 3 stationary/2 stop & go's
800 yds: 3 stationary/2 bobbers
900 yds: 5 stationary
1000 yds: 5 stationary

All stationary shots are on 20" x 40" sillhoettes (which I have), all movers are on 12" x 40" sillouettes at 1-3 fps patrolling pace. Stop and go targets only stop for 5 seconds, and bobbing targets only expose themselves for 5 seconds. Moving targets are controlled by target pullers physically walking the targets on a cadence in the pits (yes they are on sticks, wear eye pro, dont be a girl when the stick shatters).

The entire course of fire only uses 35 rounds. Each yardline takes about 6 mins (1 min prep time, 5 mins to engage 5 targets) Max score is 35, minimum qualification score is 28 (80%). The entire sillhoette is the same point value, its hit or miss.

The course of fire is best done with each shooter paired with an observer due to the movers. If you miss the sillouette on the stick, there isnt a shot spotter to tell you where you missed, so you cant make a correction on your lead/windage etc.

Its a great deal of fun, its quick and it doesnt require much ammo. Plus, its very humbling even for advanced shooters, and shooters that have shot it hundreds of times.

Seans UKD course of fire

Hey Steve
I guess the UKD portion will be shooting from 6 stations on 8 targets, two shots per station on each target in view forward from that station.  Which means that if you are at the 300yd line and there are three targets in front of you, you will shoot two shots per target for a total of six shots for that station per shooter.

SAFETY- All rifles will be unloaded at all times, bolt open, safety on, magazine removed or flooplate dropped.  No shooter will load until told to do so by the Line Coach, when the stage is complete the shooters will be instructed to make a complete safe weapon before moving to the next station.

This is a Precision Rifle course of fire no other weapons will be required, so don't bring them!!  That means each two man team will have a Precision rifle each or if you want to share a rifle that is fine too.

Bring 70rds of ammo, this will be the minimum to shoot the complete UKD course of fire.

Targets will be cardboard with A-zone scoring in the chest and head areas, if you can make the chest or head shot zones that is great and you will get extra points.  Scoring will be kept simple 0 for a miss, 1- hit on target outside A-zones, 2- hit inside chest A-zone, 3- hit on the head outside the A-zone, and 4- hit inside the head A-zone.  All targets will be the same size and dimension through the whole course.

This will be a team event the first shooter will shoot the targets per station and the team will switch out and the second shooter will shoot. One team will shoot at a time, with the rest of the shooters at the staging area which will be the WTBN parking lot.  Cheating, gaming, sharing of information will not be allowed, you can discuss after everyone has shot the course of fire, we will have plenty of time to talk about what worked and what didn't.

Ranging the target or not with whatever means you'd like estimating, partner, laser, or mils, other?

You must carry all rifles, gear, equipment, ammo, optics through whole course of fire, no going back to the vehicles or staging area.  One vehicle per team will be parked on the road at the yard line, at each yard line you will have to walk and carry your equipment.  You will drive from yard line to yard line (there will only be three) with two stations per yard line, thus 6 stages of fire.

Each team will be scored as a team, after all stages are completed and before the next team shoots.
